Exterior Cleaning Services in Avon Lake, OH

Everything on the outside of the house, cleaned at the pressure the surface can actually take. Pick a service to see the method. Every one of them is run by PowerClean Pros.

What We Do

Every service, and what it involves

PowerClean Pros is an exterior cleaning company working across Lorain, Cuyahoga & Medina Counties from Avon Lake. Every service below is quoted up front after we have looked at the property, and the method is chosen by what the surface is, not by what is fastest.

  • House & Roof Soft Washing. Low pressure and a cleaning solution for vinyl, aluminum, brick, stucco and asphalt shingles. The solution kills algae and mildew at the root; pressure would force water behind siding panels and strip the granules off a roof.
  • Window Cleaning. Exterior glass, or a full service that also takes in interior glass, window tracks and screens.
  • Concrete Cleaning & Sealing. Driveways, walks and concrete patios cleaned with a rotary surface cleaner for an even finish, then sealed once the slab has dried through.
  • Patio Restoration. Paver and stone patios deep cleaned, joints re-sanded with polymeric sand, then sealed, so the surface sits flat again instead of shifting.
  • Gutter Cleaning. Cleared by hand and bagged rather than blown around, with every downspout flushed and tested for actual flow.

Every job is quoted after we have looked at the property, because the size of the house, the amount of growth and the condition of the surface all move the number. Quotes are free and the price is agreed before any work starts.

Why It Is Done This Way

Matching the method to the surface

Almost every piece of exterior damage we get called to look at was caused by a pressure washer pointed at something that could not take it. The tool is not the problem. Using one setting for a concrete driveway, a shingle roof, a cedar deck, and a paver patio is the problem, because those four surfaces respond to pressure in four completely different ways.

  • Concrete. The one surface that genuinely wants pressure, and even there the tool matters. A hand wand cleans in overlapping arcs at varying distance, which is why wand-cleaned driveways come out striped. A rotary surface cleaner holds one distance across the whole slab and produces an even finish.
  • Roofs and siding. The opposite end. Asphalt shingles are covered in ceramic granules that provide their UV protection, and pressure strips them off, shortening the roof's life and potentially voiding its warranty. Vinyl and aluminum siding overlap by design, and pressurized water finds those seams and gets into the wall behind them. Both get soft washed instead, which also lasts longer, because killing organic growth at the root sets the regrowth clock back to zero rather than leaving the roots in place.
  • Wood and pavers. Each fails in its own way. Softwood decking has hard and soft grain in the same board, and high pressure erodes the soft grain first, leaving boards furry and splintering and rougher than before they were cleaned. Pavers hold together because sand is packed into the joints between them, and pressure blows that sand out, after which the pavers begin to shift and settle unevenly.

None of this is complicated, but it does require deciding what the surface is before turning the machine on. That decision is most of the job.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?

Pressure washing removes what is on a surface by force, which is right for concrete. Soft washing applies a low-pressure solution that kills algae and mildew at the root, which is the only safe method for roofs, siding, stucco, and screens.
